About
Heatwave
Always amazing, Heatwave continues to wow audiences as much today as it did when the group first received world-wide and more than well-deserved accolades for "Boogie Nights" in 1977.
Bio Summary:
Success came to Heatwave after many years of "revolving" band members and changes while defining the style that, over time, brought them no less than four Platinum, and seven Gold Records! See the list in the left sidebar.
Their first single, "Boogie Nights" from their debut album, scored number 2 in Britain and number 2 in America. The group's debut album, Too Hot to Handle was number 11 success in the U.S. It reached number 5 on the R&B charts, while the group's next single, the soul ballad "Always and Forever" became the number 2 in the U.S. on the R&B chart and number 18 on the pop chart. As we all know, many more chart toppers followed these.
Though the original members were in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany, the group first became famous in England where they enjoyed minor but notable successes with two other singles before "Boogie Nights' propelled them to world-wide fame.
The group launched an American tour with a live album recorded at the Greek Theater in Hollywood in 1997 and in 2002, a club remix of "Boogie Nights" was released.
Heatwave still loves nothing more than performing for its world-wide fan base and the group continues to pack houses around the world.
